Jonathan Loretto joins Xyra Group as a globally respected technology and commercial strategist, bringing an exceptional track record of transforming traditional enterprises into agile, innovation-driven organizations. His addition marks a significant step forward in Xyra Group’s mission to become a world-class investment consortium driving the growth and acquisition of high-performance e-commerce businesses.
With over two decades of experience spanning Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific, Jonathan has consistently helped companies navigate complex digital transformations and competitive global markets.
Most recently, Jonathan served as Advisor to the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy refresh programme. Prior to this, he was the Chief Growth Officer at GFT, where he successfully led the restructuring of the company’s commercial and professional services functions.
At HSBC Digital, as the Global Head of Security, Jonathan was instrumental in building a modular authentication and anti-fraud software platform that achieved remarkable results:
- Reduced operational complexity across 38 markets.
- Cut global security costs by 15%.
- Increased threat responsiveness by 400% in just 12 months.
During his tenure at IBM, Jonathan held multiple high-impact leadership roles. He notably led the recovery of Maersk’s core IT systems over several weeks following the global NotPetya cyberattack, subsequently building future resilience strategies. As the lead partner for IBM’s European Blockchain Delivery Centres, he spearheaded the development of several first-of-a-kind global consortia, including WeTrade, TradeLens, LedgerConnect, and Vinturas. These projects led to major transformations in supply chain operations worldwide.
Jonathan holds a Master of Science in Information Systems and Management and has taught at Warwick Business School. He has also served on numerous boards and innovation councils, including MIT’s Supply Chain Innovation Forum, The Auto-ID Centre (MIT), and The Global Supply Chain Council, and actively supports several charitable boards focused on digital transformation and market engagement.
