Cookie Policy

How Xyra Group uses cookies and similar technologies on xyragroup.com.

Last updated: 07 May 2026

1. What Cookies Are and the Legal Framework We Apply

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit, which enables the website, or a third party, to recognise the device, store information about your preferences, and improve the functioning of the site. Similar technologies — including pixel tags, web beacons, local storage, session storage and software development kits — operate to comparable effect; references in this Policy to "cookies" should be read as including such similar technologies.

Our use of cookies on xyragroup.com is governed by Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, as amended (the "PECR"), read together with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where applicable, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation) and the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC. In accordance with that framework and the published guidance of the Information Commissioner's Office, we may place cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Site without obtaining your consent; for all other categories of cookie we obtain your prior, freely-given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent through the consent banner which is presented on your first visit and which is accessible thereafter at any time through the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use, Their Purposes and Their Duration

We use four categories of cookies, and you may accept, reject or vary your choices in respect of each non-essential category through the consent banner. Strictly necessary cookies enable core functionality such as security, network management, session continuity and access to restricted areas of the Site, and the Site cannot function without them; they are placed on the lawful basis of our legitimate interests in providing a secure and operable service and do not require consent. Functional cookies allow us to remember choices you make (such as language or display preferences) and to provide enhanced features.

Analytics cookies, set in our case by our chosen analytics provider, allow us to count visits, identify popular pages and understand how visitors move through the Site, in order to improve its content and performance. Third-party cookies are set by services we embed, including video content delivered through YouTube (operated by Google Ireland Limited), professional content delivered through LinkedIn (operated by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company), and any social-media share or follow widgets. The full inventory of cookies presently in use, together with the specific name, provider, purpose, type (session or persistent) and duration of each, is set out in the cookie inventory and is updated whenever a material change is made; durations range from session-only (deleted when you close your browser) to persistent cookies of up to twenty-four months.

3. International Transfers, Third-Party Processors and the Specific Position on YouTube and LinkedIn

Where cookies are set by third-party providers established outside the United Kingdom, the placement and reading of those cookies, and any processing of personal data effected through them (including online identifiers, internet protocol address, device data and browsing behaviour), may involve a transfer of your personal data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Such transfers are made only on the basis of an adequacy decision (where applicable) or, in the absence of adequacy, upon the United Kingdom International Data Transfer Agreement, the European Commission's 2021 Standard Contractual Clauses, or the United Kingdom Addendum to the latter, supported by such supplementary measures as a transfer risk assessment requires.

In particular, YouTube video embeds on this Site are configured in privacy-enhanced mode, such that no cookies are set by YouTube prior to your interaction with the embedded player or your acceptance of the relevant cookie category; similarly, LinkedIn and any other third-party widgets are blocked by default and load only following affirmative consent. We do not sell, rent or otherwise commercialise your personal data, and we do not use cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising. We are not, however, responsible for the cookie practices of any third-party site to which the Site links; you are encouraged to review the cookie and privacy policies of any such site before continuing.

4. Managing Your Preferences, Withdrawal of Consent and Contact

You may, at any time, review, vary or withdraw your cookie preferences through the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page of the Site, and your preference will be honoured for the duration of the relevant cookie or until you actively change it; withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. In addition to our consent mechanism, most modern browsers allow you to refuse all or certain categories of cookie at the browser level, to delete cookies already stored, and to receive a notification when a cookie is set; instructions are available within the help function of your particular browser. You should be aware that disabling strictly necessary cookies may impair, or prevent, certain functionalities of the Site, including secure areas and form submissions.

We honour, where technically supported, the "Global Privacy Control" signal, treating it as a withdrawal of consent in respect of non-essential cookies. Questions concerning this Cookie Policy, requests to exercise any data-protection right in respect of cookie-derived data, or complaints concerning our cookie practices, may be directed to the Office of the Chief Legal Officer at the address above or by electronic mail to info@xyragroup.com; you also retain the right, at all times, to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk; 0303 123 1113).
